Learning Event: Financing Sustainable Aquatic Food Systems — Aquaculture, Fisheries and Algaculture

Held on 20 October 2026, the learning event “Financing Sustainable Aquatic Food Systems – Aquaculture, Fisheries and Algaculture” was jointly organized by the Finance in Common (FiCS) Ocean Coalition and the Agri-PDB Platform, hosted by IFAD. Bringing together representatives from AFD, DFC Belize, FDB and BOAD, the session explored how public development banks can finance sustainable aquatic food systems through practical instruments such as blue loans and blended finance, while highlighting regional experiences, common challenges and opportunities for cross-regional peer learning.
