On 28 January 2025, the Agri-PDB Platform convened its third Rural Financial Inclusion Working Group, focusing on how Public Development Banks (PDBs) can leverage the latest Global Findex data (released July 2024) to design more inclusive and evidence-based rural finance strategies. The session featured Emilio Hernandez, Senior Financial Sector Specialist at CGAP (World Bank), and Carolina Trivelli, Principal Researcher at the Institute of Peruvian Studies. The discussion explored global financial inclusion trends, rural–urban gaps, unmet demand for formal rural credit, and practical ways PDBs can translate data insights into concrete action.
