Country Missions: Turning Dialogue into Action

Country missions are where the Agri-PDB Platform turns dialogue into practical, country-led action. By bringing together public development banks, government institutions, rural finance actors and development partners, each mission helps build a shared understanding of the agricultural finance landscape and identify priority areas for support.

This work matters because every country faces different challenges. Climate risks, value chains, institutional capacity and access to finance vary widely. Country missions allow the Platform to tailor its technical assistance, training, peer learning and financial tools to local needs—helping institutions better serve smallholder farmers, rural enterprises and food systems.

Our missions have covered Mozambique, Senegal, Mali and Ghana, addressing areas such as rural financial inclusion, agroecology, climate and green finance, digital credit solutions, institutional capacity and investment in the livestock sector. Each mission has created new partnerships and clearer pathways from identified needs to implementation.

More missions and updates will be added as the Platform expands its engagement, follows progress with its partners and shares lessons that can inspire action across its wider network.
